Role Summary
As the People Generalist & Office Manager you will play a key role supporting the day-to-day tasks which ensure our team is able to provide services to our community and meet its goals. Reporting to the Agency Senior VP and Head of People, you will work with all teams across the agency to complete a variety of tasks primarily surrounding staffing, staff engagement, and general agency governance. You’ll also manage individualized projects focused on improving our diversity efforts, creating training and resources, and increasing efficiency.

Role Summary
As the People Generalist & Office Manager you will play a key role supporting the day-to-day tasks which ensure our team is able to provide services to our community and meet its goals. Reporting to the Agency Senior VP and Head of People, you will work with all teams across the agency to complete a variety of tasks primarily surrounding staffing, staff engagement, and general agency governance. You’ll also manage individualized projects focused on improving our diversity efforts, creating training and resources, and increasing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
People Generalist (70-80% of time)
- Lead the recruitment of new staff through dynamic sourcing, staying up to date on market trends, conducting interviews, and guiding hiring managers and candidates through the staffing process
- Lead the onboarding process for new staff focusing on streamlining training, compliance, and engagement for new staff
- Act as the main point of contact for employees with questions about the agency’s policies, upcoming internal events, and organizational structure
- Be the main conduit for staff feedback, providing performance management support to both managers and staff
- Help maintain employee files; complete tasks for staff onboarding, tech set up, and general benefits administration
- Support our payroll and accounts payable process and follow up with vendors and staff with any discrepancies to achieve resolution
- Aid in the negotiating, structuring, and marketing of our employee benefits, including answering questions and helping with yearly open enrollment
- Spend a minimum of 2-3 working day in person at the office
- Bring to life ideas for increasing and improving employee engagement and morale, including in-office and virtual events
- Partner with the Operations Director to streamline employee tech needs and support the adoption of new technology and software, keeping user experience at the forefront
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for employees and visitors at both agency offices
- Partner with internal team to provide tools and supplies to the broader team
- Keep office common spaces clean and tidy and monitor general safety in the suite
- Be the main point of contact for our office landlords and keep an open channel of communication for needs that may arise
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of human resources, office management, or talent acquisition experience
- Excellent computer skills with strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools, video conferencing tools (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.)
- Ability to commute to both agency office locations (Boston, MA, & Hyannis, MA)
- Capacity to lift up to 25 lbs
- 3-7 years of relevant work experience, including 2+ years of relevant human resources experiences
- Previous talent acquisition experience, with emphasis on managing all aspects of the employee recruiting cycle
- Previous experience with payroll and benefits administration
- Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service
- Strong technical ability and a passion for piloting new and emerging technologies
- Excellent verbal, written, and phone communications skills. Ability to successfully work independently and in a team environment
- Sound judgment, initiative and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proven organization and time management skills to complete a high volume of varied responsibilities in a fast-paced setting
