Role Summary
As the Director of Fundraising Events you will play an essential role in sustaining the operations of our Agency and engaging donors to join our mission. We will count on you to put together events that grow our name across our community, all while hitting your revenue goals. You’ll get to work closely with motivated committee members to prospect and recruit donors, expand our reach, and find creative ways for people to interact with our agency.

You will lead a group of self-motivated staff tasked with putting together engaging events to raise funds for our agency. Working in tandem with them, you will own the fundraising event team’s revenue goal and the strategy for the agency to achieve it.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the agency’s fundraising events portfolio, working with the fundraising events team to oversee all logistics including: securing monetary commitments, recruiting volunteers, sourcing vendors, creating marketing materials, acknowledging gifts, etc.
- Develop high-touch experiences for corporate, individual, and family foundation supporters, plus board members. Work with the CDO to establish a long-term strategy and vision for agency fundraising events.
- Lead and staff event committees made up of key donors who support the success of each event, rolling off and recruiting new members as appropriate
- Collaborate with broader fundraising team to determine goals, themes, and content to enhance the constituent experience, maximize fundraising efforts, and grow transactional event donors toward mission-based giving.
- Provide regular reporting and analysis to the CDO to demonstrate progress toward fundraising goals and identify areas of success and/or concern. Revise strategies as needed.
- Hire, supervise, coach and develop fundraising events staff
- Continuously analyze and benchmark performance metrics (quality, quantity, efficiency) to identify best practices, develop/enhance methodologies, and identify areas for improvement
- Work with the Operations Department to ensure smooth transfer of financial data including purchase orders, invoices, receivables, and pledges.
- Create a motivating, high energy environment. Be solution-oriented and take ownership of your team’s success and shortcomings.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of applicable work experience
- Willingness and ability to commute to meetings and events across eastern Massachusetts
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with an understanding of how to adjust messaging for a variety of audiences
- Strong computer skills with strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools, video conferencing tools (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.) and Salesforce
- 10+ years of relevant experience in the non-profit sector
- Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong prior experience with Salesforce
- Entrepreneurial approach with the ability to work well both independently and with others, exercising initiative judgement, problem-solving and confidentiality as needed.
- Comfortable with deadline management and ability to work effectively and calmly within timelines and maintain multiple critical priorities.
- Strong initiative and enthusiasm, and willingness to pitch in whenever needed.
